How do I get hours? Members may complete hours by signing up for an event (found under the Events & Sign Ups tab) and showing up to volunteer! Additionally, members may submit articles or complete online opportunities hours. Please see the "Current Hour Opportunities" section on the Home page for events happening now! What happens if I don't complete 30 hours by the end of the year? If a member were to fail to meet the hour requirements by the end of the semester, they would receive a strike and would have to make up for it in the following semester. Failing to fulfill the expected hour requirement at the end of the school year would result in revoking membership from Cypress Lakes Key Club :( If you have any concerns about completing your hours, please contact us at [email protected]. |
Who do I contact regarding my hours? If you notice any discrepancies or have any specific questions about hours, you may contact your grade-level secretary by email. What should I do if I can’t attend a meeting? We offer make-up meetings if you cannot make it to the normal meeting after school. Please check the Calendar (located under the Events & Sign Ups tab) to see meeting dates. If you know you can’t make it to either meetings, you must submit an excuse form in advance. Otherwise, you will receive a strike. Where can I find excuse forms? They're located on the Documents page under the Resources tab. |
What is a strike? A strike is a form of “warning” that a member is assigned if they fail to meet any of the requirements of Key Club. A member is given three strikes before membership is revoked but can always reapply the following year! Do I have to reapply for Key Club membership every year? All returning members must reapply at the beginning of every school year! :) |
